These past few weeks have gone by kind of fast...
It's been three weeks since Nikki and Debbie got here. I'm really glad they came, it was like a little piece of home came with me when I left. I am going to miss them a lot.
The preaching here is very different than back home. During the week the group goes out at 8:45 and on Fridays it's at 8:30. On Fridays they go to the "campo" which is basically preaching in the mountains. We crossed rivers, climbed hills, and whenever we were hungry we just grabbed fruit from the nearest tree and eat on the way to the next house. It's a lot of fun preaching in the mountains, and coming home and taking a cold shower after a hot day in service is the best feeling ever!
One day, a brother took us four-wheeling to one of the beaches here. That was probably the funnest thing I've done here so far. I even got to drive it, so that made it even better.
Another day, two brothers took Nikki, Debbie and I for a ride on their motorcycles. They even let us drive them! (surprisingly, we didn't die) Later on we went bike riding on the malecon. We had a lot of fun that day.
One thing that is really annoying me, is the stupid bugs... Apparently i have "sweet blood" or something because the mosquitoes have been violently attacking me for days. No matter how much bug spray I put on, I always end up with mosquito bites the size of a baseball... Today I woke up with a weird pain on the side of my forehead with a little bit of swelling, followed by a weird rash all over my body. So either i got bit by some spider and i'm slowly becoming Spider-man, or i might have just gotten a heat rash but frankly i would rather have the first one.
I'm pretty sure I'll be fine, but let's just hope I don't die from scratching all my skin off from the itching. So in other words... when you come, bring lots of bug spray!
Next week Nikki and Debbie are leaving, and I'm going to miss them so much. Hopefully they will be back soon.
Also next week my dad has two public talks. One in Spanish and another in the ASL congregation! (Someone will translate, since we don't know ASL) So we are very excited about that.
I'm having fun, and I'm excited to see what the rest of the trip brings!
