We still think back about our trip... and just miss it more every day!
By this time we were in Santiago visiting our friends Dianna & Ruben. After an evening with the friends at Villa Gonzales Assembly Hall, we took the next day (day 7) to enjoy the sights of Santiago... AKA... The Beach!!!
Day 7
Playa Sosua! It was amazing. The beaches in the Caribbean are beautiful. We don't have beaches like those in the US.
Hope you enjoy the pictures.
Day 8
Day at Villa Gonzales Assembly Hall. We were able to enjoy Morning Worship, have a tour of the assembly hall , as well as work on the project. It was so much fun.
This was actually the first time I (Veronica) have ever really worked at a project like this. I did work during the remodel of our Kingdom Hall a few years back, but worked in the kitchen... so I missed the other part of working at a project. (I loved the job I did... not saying I didn't... but this experience was totally different to what I was used to).
We had an amazing day. To be able to work all day with brothers and sisters... and even though we don't know each other, it really didn't matter. We are family now. It was a great day.
After a long day of work... we went to the congregation meeting. A full day of spiritual blessings!!!
And of course, afterwards, we had to get something to munch on :)
Day 9
Up early to catch the Caribe Tours bus back to Santo Domingo.
We met up with Rafael Perez again... and he took us back to the airport. I was able to take a few pictures of the city too.
So our bus ride took a little longer than expected. So when we got in Rafael's car, we were kinda' in a hurry. I was so worried we wouldn't make it in time. Our flight left at 1:15pm... and we got to the airport at 12:45! So we cut it a little bit close. I could tell the airport personnel were not that happy that we were rushing. But, thankfully we made it on the plane.
Yes, we were the LAST ones to board!!
Made it to Miami... Then our next flight to Atlanta.
I thank Jehovah that we were able to make this trip possible. There is nothing better than taking that first step to accomplish a goal you have... and I think - I know - that this was one of those first steps.
We are still waiting to get started on our Visa process. But I know with Jehovah's help we will be able to get it all done. I can't wait for one of our next posts to be that we are on our way!!
