Pioneer Meeting
We attended the pioneer meeting with the English. This Pioneer Meeting was the one with the circuit overseer, who also happens to be our circuit overseer in Spanish!! Jon had the privilege to give a talk during the meeting as well. I think he did great :)
Some exciting details about our circuit:
* Our circuit is made up of 20 congregations; including 4 English congregations.
* In the whole circuit, we have a total of 239 regular pioneers. Part A (or the Spanish side) has 161 regular pioneers and Part B (the English side) has 78.
* We have 10 Special Pioneers!
We love ourselves some Nelsons!! They are a family that moved, just a little bit after we did, from Utah. They have three young children. Even with the many difficulties they may be facing, Jehovah really blesses all their efforts to be here. Clark and Shasta have both started regular pioneering and their oldest daughter, AJ, recently got baptized. They are most definitely part of our family now!!
Here is a picture of our girls and the Nelson kids during service.
Our congregation has an arrangement that the last Sunday of every month we go in service with one of the local congregations that has territory they don't do often, or at all.
In January we went to two different congregations.... half of our hall when to Luperon; and the other half (including our family) went to El Ranchito. It was a long, wonderful day in the ministry. We drove as far as we could to get to the territory, then worked our way back. We started at a point that they haven't been to in about a year! So it was nice to talk to people that haven't been preached to in quite a long time. Here is a picture of our group, along with some of the friends from El Ranchito. We had a wonderful day!
Raquel has been studying with Abrianna, age 8, for about a year and half. They had a little bit of a break while we were in the states (but a sister would visit her every so often while we were gone). Abrianna has learned a lot and is continuing to make progress. She comments at least once in every meeting and has told Raquel that she would like to practice the songs for the meeting before going. Raquel just finished the "Listen to God" brochure. She plans on doing a review and watch a few of the dramas and other videos with Abrianna before starting something new.
We are very proud of Raquel and the progress she is making and the love we see her have in the ministry.
